Your radio stays yours.
LoopAhoy is made by 5of12. It works without an account and has no advertising, analytics or tracking. The tape, the moments you catch and the samples you keep stay on your own devices. This page explains what does leave them, and why.

What stays on your device
- The rolling tape, caught loops, edits and saved WAV samples.
- Favourites, recent stations, the last station you played and your settings.
- Sound analysis of your samples, which runs on the device.
5of12 does not operate a server that receives any of this. We do not see what you listen to, catch or save.
Radio stations and the station directory
To find and play stations, LoopAhoy connects directly to the Radio Browser directory and to each station's stream. Like any website you visit, those services receive your IP address and the details of the request, and they handle it under their own policies. LoopAhoy sends them nothing else about you.
iCloud on Apple devices
On iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro, your favourites, recent stations and last station sync between your devices through your own private iCloud database. Apple stores that data under your Apple Account; 5of12 cannot read it. You can turn iCloud off for LoopAhoy in your device settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment details; 5of12 receives only what Apple provides to every developer, such as sales totals, and never your card or contact details. LoopAhoy checks your subscription with Apple on the device.
The website
This site is hosted by GitHub Pages and loads fonts from Google Fonts, so GitHub and Google receive your IP address and browser details when you visit. The web radio keeps your favourites and preferences in this browser's local storage, and its tape exists only while the page is open.
LoopAhoy hardware
The Raspberry Pi and ESP32 instruments keep their tape, samples and settings on the device and its storage card. They contact radio stations, the station directory and loopahoy.com to check for software updates, and the ESP32 sets its clock from the public pool.ntp.org time service. The Pi's controller page is available to devices on your local network, so keep it on a network you trust.
Children
LoopAhoy does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
